I am a self-taught artist, born and raised on Long Island, New York, who currently resides in Maryland, and strives to be a better artist every day. My media of consistent engagement are graphite, watercolors, colored pencil, and acrylic paint. I am driven by a desire to depict my perception of beauty and am most content when engaged in the creative process, which is often inspired by the human form, geometric shapes, and nature. My relationship with developing and executing images, serves two purposes in my life: it is one way that I am able to feed my soul, and it allows me to appreciate the expressive moments captured in the artwork of others.
As a career art educator, I spent at least a decade putting my artwork on the back burner as I dedicated most of my creative energy to my students and the aesthetic experiences in which I wanted them to engage. Eventually, I realized there was no possible way to genuinely feed their creative spirit and neglect my own. As a Visual Arts Resource Teacher, I now share that message with the art teachers I support. As long as my mind, eyes, heart, and hands are willing to collaborate, I will be making art. I hope that something I have created moves you the way creating them moved me.
